Coronavirus, a terrible word for all the people around the world. The entire world has been facing this problem. Coronavirus has caused health and economic breakdown in all the nations. Coronavirus is a type of virus. There are many types of this Coronavirus, but the latest one is known as COVID-19. COVID-19 has spread itself in almost all nations of the world and is infecting the persons to death.

Coronavirus can be transmitted from person to person by being in contact with the infected person. Coronavirus has widely infected China country. The first case of coronavirus in China was found in December 2019. The total number of cases of COVID-19 reported in the entire world is 339,000.

Moreover, COVID-19 can be passed from humans to humans through the droplets of sneezes and coughs. It has been detected in people all around the world and hence it is considered as a pandemic. The spread of COVID-19 is being monitored by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as well as the World Health Organization such as Johns Hopkins across the world.

HOW IT HAS SPREAD?

As said above, the first case of COVID-19 was reported in the Wuhan city of China in 2019. Though, the health officials are still looking for the sources from which new coronaviruses are being generated. The hypotheses which were made earlier said that this spread of COVID-19 is somehow linked to the seafood market in Wuhan, China. It has been said that some people who went to the market had viral pneumonia, which is caused by the new coronavirus i.e. COVID-19.

But the contradiction is, according to a report which was revealed on January 25, 2020, the first person got diseased with coronavirus on December 1, 2019. The report said that this person has no connection with the seafood. The health officials are trying their best to find the origin of the Coronavirus such that it can be prevented.

SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19

Here are the symptoms of COVID-19 through which you can know whether you are diseased with coronavirus or not.

  • Cough
  • Fever
  • Shortness of breath

In the most severe cases of COVID-19, the virus can lead to various respiratory problems, kidney failure, and even death.

In case you feel you have some respiratory difficulty, for example, shortness of breath or coughing, then immediately call your doctor. Tell about your symptoms to them.

DIAGNOSIS OF COVID-19

COVID-19 is a severe disease and it is difficult to diagnose it with just a physical exam. This is so because mild cases of COVID-19 seem the same as the normal fever followed by a bad cold. The right way to diagnose COVID-19 are laboratory tests.

HOW IT IS TREATED?

As per the health officials and doctors, there is no specific treatment of COVID-19 until now. Moreover, as per the facts revealed, approximately 101,987 people have come out of this death-causing disease. The information is revealed by the Coronavirus COVID-19 global case map developed by Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering.

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM COVID-19

The best measure to prevent yourself from COVID-19 is social distance and self-quarantine. Along with this, one must maintain good hygiene as well as respiratory etiquette. Moreover, follow the following mentioned steps to prevent coronavirus.

  • Stay home as much as you can
  • Make social distancing
  • Ask your company to allow you to work from home
  • Don’t come in contact with sick people.
  • Wear a mask if it’s urgent to move out of the house.

WEAR A MASK

WEAR A MASK

Masks play an important role in preventing the coronavirus. Coronavirus can enter into our body through the nose, mouth, and eyes. That’s why it is preferred to wear a mask such that the virus could not enter into your body through the nose. However, many different types of masks are available out there in the market. But not every mask can protect yourself from COVID-19. Even a regular medical mask is not capable to protect yourself from the coronavirus. That’s why it is important to choose the right mask for COVID-19.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention i.e. CDC asks to wear an N95 respirator face mask which would be the right mask for protecting your body from COVID-19.

What an N95 respirator mask does is, it removes particles from the air which we breathe in. The mask filters out at least 95% of very tiny (0.3 microns) particles. Along with particles, the mask is able to filter out viruses as well as bacteria.

WHY N95 MASK IS DIFFERENT?

N95 mask

The most prominent feature of the N95 mask is it reduces the exposure of the person who wears it to airborne particles. If one wears the N95 masks which properly fit them, then the leakage around the edges of the respirator reduces to a minimum. It happens when the wearer intakes the air. The process shows that all the air goes through the filter media. All this is explained by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

The normal face masks are loosely fit. They behave only as a barrier to the droplets which includes large respiratory particles. Even they are not capable of filtering small particles in the air. Along with this, they are not capable of preventing leakage around the edge of the mask when the wearer breathes in the air.

WHEN YOU SHOULD USE A MASK?

WHEN YOU SHOULD USE A MASK?

The question which majorly comes in the mind of the people is when one should wear the mask. One only needs to wear a mask if you are taking care of the person who is diseased with the coronavirus. Along with this, one should also wear a mask if you have cough or sneeze.

Wearing a mask will be an effective practice if you wash your hands with an alcohol-based hand- wash or soap. If you know how to wear a face mask then you should also know how to use it and take it off. Along with this, try not to touch your mask while wearing it.
